Relevant and Useful
Like any first-rate consumer magazine, AAA invests in its publications. From hiring professional editorial staffs with extensive credentials in the travel and hospitality industry to high production values in graphic design and photography, AAA is committed to bringing its members news and information they can use.

The editorial teams of the AAA publications also regularly query their readers to make sure they're hitting the mark. Testimony that they're delivering relevant content via feature articles and regular departments is the high readership of every issue. In fact, most readers never miss an issue (see Ad Response).

Editorial Awards and Accolades
Collecting consumer magazine awards for outstanding editorial and graphic design is a familiar and intensely satisfying routine for AAA magazine editors. From the prestigious Lowell Thomas awards to the Western Publishing Association awards (The Maggies) to the Florida Magazine Association awards (FMA), AAA titles win awards coast-to-coast.

Multiple Awards for Relevant Journalism
AAA's Arizona Highroads is a frequent Maggie nominee and winner nearly every year for multiple awards. AAA Going Places Magazine won four awards alone at the 2001 Florida Magazine Association (FMA) annual conference. Going head-to-head with the likes of Sunset magazine, Travel+Leisure, and Conde Nast Traveler, the AAA publications compete with veteran consumer titles on editorial features that take on current affairs and recent events, as well as op/ed pieces and columns and graphic design.

A Sign of the Times
In the wake of 9/11, travel editors across the country dealt with framing the impact of this horrific tragedy on the travel industry. AAA Going Places' Robert Sharp won a Charlie for Best Editorial/Commentary for his President's Page article ÒAmerica Moves ForwardÓ in the Nov./Dec. 2001 issue in response to the events of 9/11. Likewise a country synonymous with an unpopular war is experiencing a surge in tourism. Senior editor Tom Wuckovich won a Charlie in the Best Feature Lead category for his article "Vietnam: A Perspective."
